500px, an online service that lets users create and share photo portfolios, recently hit three milestones for visits, unique visitors and page views, 500px co-founder Evgeny Tchebotarev writes on Google+.

The site has grown to 6M monthly visits, 3M unique visitors and 50M monthly page views and has experienced 8x user growth since this time last year [ see infographic below. ] Yahoo's photo-sharing site Flickr, on the other hand, has 20M unique visitors in the U.S. and nearly 80M worldwide.  Even more, Flickr has more than 8x the amount -- 450M -- of monthly page views as 500px.

"This is a huge deal for us," Evgeny writes on Google+.  "I'm wondering how hard my heart will pound when in the few months we'll announce 100,000,000 pageviews in just one month?"

Evgeny tells LAUNCH that there are many new features and improvements coming soon.

"The biggest feature that we have planned to release pretty soon is the iPad app," Evgeny says. "It's going to be very exciting, and we are looking to release in the next few weeks -- our beta testers are already very impressed with the quality and solid performance, but we want to make sure it is really polished and ready."

Toronto-based 500px was founded in 2003 by Evgeny and Oleg Gutsol. In June 2011, 500px raised $525K in a Series A round from High Line Venture Partners, Deep Creek Capital and ff Venture Capital. Flickr was founded in 2004 and was acquired by Yahoo! in 2005 for $35M.
